Hard to say what I love most about this room. Perhaps it is the brick wall that extends from the entry to the bedroom, giving the apartment a NY loft kind of a feel, or how great mid-century furniture looks when up against it.

As you can see from the next two pictures, the room gets a lot of sunlight. This is particularly nice when I am home in the middle of the day.
To solve the never ending space issue and to create an interesting focal point, we chose to build in a console with cabinets above. This helps hide clutter and everything else.

The picture below shows how we covered up the non-working fireplace. This created a break in the brick and now provides our backdrop for our projector. A flat screen wouldn't look bad here either.

The high ceilings and openness of this room make it a great place for entertaining and relaxing. On the ceiling is also a modern fan that not only looks great but provides function as well.
